I will drive forward anti-discrimination legislation as well as welfare legislation to materially enhance the situation of the LGBTIQ* community.
We must stand together against far right attempts to deny minorities the most basic rights and we have to stand together against attempts of neoliberals to deny large portions of the population the material goods needed to live a good life.

The role of the Council of Europe, which is independent from the EU, in human rights work and in promoting human rights cooperation between states have to be strengthened, and the Council's recommendations for securing LGBTQIA+ rights must be implemented at national levels and by agreements. The work of the LQBTIQ Equality Strategy must be strengthened. Active dialogue need to be held with activists and organizations promoting democracy, equality and the rights of minorities, and taking into account their expertise. The rights of asylum seekers belonging to minorities must be protected.

Listening LGBTQIA+ people and learning what they have to say and act based on that.
I will promote LGBTI rights as a holistic approach to all legislation so that possible impacts are assessed early enough and the Do No Harm principle is followed. I will actively engage with NGOs and other experts to learn from them so I can actively advocate for LGBTI rights and use my public platform the best way possible.
I will actively encourage legislation that protects the rights of LGBTI people. I will defend the rights of LGBTI people against legislation seeking to curb them.
I will be loud, proud and out in the face of anyone trying to stop me from advocating for LGBTI rights, whether it is on the streets or in parliaments.
It has been a pleasure to be a vice-chair of the Finnish Parliament's Rainbow Network. I’m going to continue this work in all my positions and I would be proud if I could also do it in the European Parliament.
As gay and the parent of a rainbow family, I can promise that queer politics is part of all the politics I do. On the streets and in the cabinets.
