As an MEP, I’ve been working towards making Europe a safe place for every LGBTI+ person and I’ll continue doing so by:
– pushing for the criminalisation of hate speech and hate crime targeting LGBTI+ persons,
-advocating for the adoption of the Anti-discrimination Directive to provide comprehensive protection against discrimination in all areas of life, irrespective of a person’s sex, sexual orientation or identity – which has been stalled because of Member States –
– and by putting pressure on Member States for the adoption of the regulation for protecting rainbow families

By bringing forward the voice of the community, by combating discrimination, hate speech and crime, working towards the eradication of all forms of violence and exclusion and in favour of social inlcusion and by promoting the fullfilment and respect of human rights, democracy, transparency and accountability – on European, regional and local levels.

At MeRA25/ DiEM25, we believe in equal rights for all people — and we believe that LGBT rights will always remain in jeopardy as long as racism and discrimination are cultivated by austerity and anti-democratic repression. All of these problems are interconnected: we need to fight for holistic, commonly-developed, progressive agendas and reforms throughout Europe — to restore democracy and achieve equity and full equality, irrespective of sexual orientation or sexual identity.

"I have been an activist for LGBTQI+ rights for over 20 years, serving as the president of the organization Rainbow Families and being a member of the national committee for LGBTQI+ equality strategy. My work in the field has already brought significant institutional changes in Greece, such as the recent law on marriage equality. As society becomes increasingly conservative, it is important to have individuals like me in the European Parliament because I will continue to work with the same dedication and commitment that has brought many positive results.

As an openly LGBTQ+ candidate for the EP, I am dedicated to delivering on my commitments to champion the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex individuals. If elected, I will vigorously advocate for progressive policies and laws that explicitly protect individuals based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics. This entails not only proposing and advocating for such measures but also actively working towards their implementation and enforcement, ensuring that the LGBTQ+ community’s rights are upheld and respected across the EU.

As a prospective MEP from Greece and a psychiatrist, I am deeply committed to advancing LGBTI rights. The recent attack on gay and non-binary youth in Thessaloniki underscores the need for explicit protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity. I will advocate for a comprehensive EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy, engage with LGBTI organizations for insight, and integrate mental health considerations into policies. My approach will emphasize education, legal reform, and safeguarding democracy, ensuring that LGBTI rights are upheld across Europe.

As a potential MEP, I will vote in favour of any legislation that proposes policies that ensure the rights and equity of LGBTQIA+ individuals in all member states of the EU and I will advocate for the just demands of LGBTQIA+ community to be fully impelemented in European society

Equal rights and enforcement of equality politics are in my main political agenda. In Greece we need to deliver more in legal framework, especially on the implication of the legislation. One of the main problems that we face is the culture and the every day behaviors especially in the periphery. If I am elected I will focus on social politics and grassroots movements that will focus on good practices in schools, public services, workplaces.

I’m interested into providing the same rights to ALL European kids. There still so many member states that don’t give the same rights to all of their LGBTQ+ couples like my country. Measures must be taken against homophobia and bullying.

I will bring new legislation and work with other members to expand support for favorable laws. I will seek ways to ensure individual countries conform.

New Left party and I as one of its representatives in the European parliament will make sure the EU uses all its powers to hold Member States accountable for violations of the human rights of LGBTI people, and for ignoring their obligations under EU treaties, legislation and policies, and refusing to implement of existing legal protections. Moreover, in a continuous collaboration with LGBTI people and their representatives, New Left party will continuously monitor the situation in EU and will submit political proposals for the full establishment of LGBTI people rights.

“As a disabled person, I am very familiar with the meaning of discrimination, and I am actively fighting for the community in any way I can. I am not exactly sure how I will do this as a member of the European Parliament, but I have some ideas that I am committed to. I will reach out to the LGBTI community and listen to their requests without prejudice. Additionally, I am committed to ensuring that one of my colleagues in the European Parliament is well-versed in the rights of the LGBTI community and belongs to the community. Diversity is a source of strength.”

I will work closely with Comeout4Europe to ensure the protection and promotion of the LGBTI rights at all times, everywhere. I will do this by proposing and advocating for EU policies and national accountability in implementing them.
